2001 - Floyd
expanded its role as the primary provider of health care to
the indigent by assuming operation of the
Floyd County Clinic. Floyd began offering lymphedema therapy
and announced major expansion plans. |

2002 - Floyd
opened a new $1.6 million Cardiac Catheterization Lab and a $2.2
million Magnetic Resonance Imaging Suite. Floyd began demolition
of the 1946 rock building to make room for the construction
of a new energy plant. |

2003 - Floyd continued its significant expansion project and opened a new luxurious patient care unit, The Palatine Suites. |

2004 - Floyd
unveiled a new main entrance and a new look. The new lobby welcomed visitors
with a warm atrium, colorful artwork, beautiful landscaping
and fountains. It marked the completion of Phase II of our
expansion project. Floyd's logo received a fresh new look and moved to the upward "y" and what everyone would soon be calling the new Floyd Green. |

2005 - The Physicians Center and parking garage opened on the Floyd Medical Center campus in February.
The facility houses Floyd's Outpatient Surgery Center, new Operating Room of the Future, Floyd Primary Care offices and several Harbin Clinic physician offices. |

2006 -
Neurological Sciences unit opened in April and later is recognized as Primary Stroke Center by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Kenneth Sands performs Georgia ’s first BIRMINGHAM HIP RESURFACING procedure at Floyd Medical Center.
Floyd sells Floyd Home Care Services to LHC Group.
Floyd and Harbin Clinic partner in quest for Bariatric Center of Excellence.
Floyd opens
Stephen D. Smith M.D., Pediatric Center at Floyd Medical Center.
The expansion and renovation of the fifth floor Cardiovascular Services was completed and the total number of beds rose to 30. |
